Zathela looked the man up and down, measuring his strength. "A fireball should work for him," she muttered to herself, before taking a stance. A dim glow began to form where her hands clenched the staff-- followed by a bright glow that kept growing brighter untill her veryarms caught fire. She let loose one fireball, that would barely skim the top of Justin's head, probably singeing a few hairs.

Myren knew moments before the girl fired the fireball what she was going to do. He placed himself between them letting them know that no fighting was to occur. "You have proven yourself powerful, sorceress" He folded his arms proving he wouldnt step down. "But you must pass the guantlet, no exceptions." He narrowed his eyes daring her to defy him.

Thela staired up into the eyes of the Half-giant, running over a course of defiance in her mind, but desciding the huge man would squash any chance of escape. "Fine," she said. "I still havn't hear either of your names," she added, crossing her arms.

Myren smiled knowing he had won. "Myren." He said plainly holding out a large hand for her too shake. A large black dragon tattoo wound itself around his wrist and up his forearm its jaws opened and snarling on the back of his hand, another symbol of his once tribe.

Justin continued to eye the girl suspiciously. He shook his head agitated then sat back down. "So anyway Myren, when do we leave?" He muttered, grabbing a grinding stone from the pile and pulling out his sword. He then proceeded to grate at the already sharp edge.

Myren turned to Justin and smiled. "Anxious arent you?" He shook his head and folded his arms. "Not till the mayor contacts us" He walked across the threshold to pick up a bow and flex it. "Meh, i still prefer malee." He toyed with his double headed axe affectionatly before looking at Justin. "How good are you hand to hand?"

"Adaquate" he summed up in one word. In truth, he knew he was better than that. He had trained with many different melee weapons, ranging from traditional swords, maces and axes, all the way to polearms.

Myren grinned and looked at Justin. "Fair enough, wish to spar with me later then?" he asked looking to the door as it cracked open.
A tallish girl walked in surely no older then 15 she smiled "hello Myren, was mother expecting you?" She asked looking around. She noticed the mans company and curtsied her purple eyes glittering. "hello sir, and ma'am" she added quickly

Justin raised his brow at the new entrence. "Hey it's a party now..." he said, grinning widely, standing up. "And myren, if we duel, promise not to decapitat me..." he left the sentence hanging, eyeing the huge muscles on Myren's arms, and thinking how simple it would be for him to perform that...trick.

Myren chuckled at Justin's comment and turned to the girl at the door way. "Ah Nerida." He stepped forward and embraced her gently. The elven girl grinned, "Guess what Myren..." she let silence drag on a moment before Myren answered. "What?" The girl grinend widely. "I survived the guantlet" She laughed and grinned "I am to come with you! Oh and the Mayor wants you in the square, he's only going to let one more person through..." She gestured towards the door her eeys wandering to rest on Justin possibly to try and desipher who he was.

Justin nodded, still smiling, at Nerida, then walked out the door into the blistering cold. He shivvered and put his hat back onto his head and sheathed his sword. Placing his hands in his pockets, he began to walk back down the path they had come, following the tracks they had made earlier. Eyeing the footprints, he spotted something unusual, there were the three which belonged to him, Myren and that sorceress, but the fourth pair, belonging to the elf, were distinctly shallower, as if she weighed next to nothing. Scary... he thought mentally, before continueing on.

Myren followed Justin to the square but lagged slightly behind looking around him. Something was amiss but he ingored the dreading feeling inside himself and continued on, he quickly caught up with Justin. "Stuff the mayor, 'e wont do anything to us lets stop here and spar." He drew his axe. "And dont worry. I wont kill you." He gestured for Nerida and Zathela to continue on.

Justin froze at this tone. He smirked slyly then put his hand behind his back as is scratching the back of his head. Then his hand returned to his side, it was clenched around the handle of his longsword. "You sure about this Myren? I'd hate to waste your energy on something as....feeble as me..." he chuckled heartedly. Stuck his sword in the ground and leaned on it, gazing at the Half-Giant with admiration.

Myren threw back his head and laughed. "hardly feeble small one, hardly" He assumed the guard position. "ready?" he asked smiling. He then added telepathically. Dont hold back

"Ready" Justin chuckled. He wasted no time. Heaving his sword up, he ran towards Myren, his sword over his shoulder ready for an easily deflected downward parry. He closed the distance quickly and swung, excitement in his eyes.
