"No," he muttered, "I can do it on my own."
The Kru'al came to where they thought the hobbleing boy had gone, yet he wasn't there. They equally cursed in thier own language, and left to tell thier leader about the living human. There could be more.

"Why were you out here?" the woman hissed. "It's not safe for children. It's not safe for anyone."

The woman's eyes narrowed again. "That is my buisiness," she told Serric. "Do you have a family? Where do you live?"

The woman shook her head. "I don't know many people," she told him. She started walking again. "Let's get you home."

"Oh," the boy replied quietly, "I'm sorry." After a long pause he added, "Was your mommy killed too?"

Vira winced. "I don't know," she replied. They were nearing the exit to the tunnel now.

"Oh," he replied quietly, "I'm sure my sister will let you stay at our place!" He was back to his freakishly happy self.

Vira sighed. "That's nice of you but I think not." She stopped at the exit to the tunnel. "Can you lead the way from here?"

"Sure," he said, recognizeing the tunnel instantly. "My home isn't too far from here." He limped the rest of the way through winding tunnels that one would think never ended untill he came upon a great opening. They were a good hundred feet above the ground. A flemsy bridge led the way across the giant space. A Kru'al would have difficulty crossing this bridge, it was built that way. He started across, and nearly fell, but continued on. "It's not so far from here," he said brightly.

Cal walked back in forth in the small home she and her brother had made for themselves. It wasn't much, just a curtain over a small, dead-ended tunnel in the middle of the East UnderGround. Thier catacomb was rather high above the others and only accessable by a latter that led to three other tunnel homes below her and one above. She reached for the curtain, opening it slightly to peer out. "He shouldhave been home hours ago," she muttered spitefully, 'So help me if he's been taken prisoner by those alien bastards, I'm gonna kill him."

Nara landed as jumped over a pile of steal. She held her breath to make sure no one was following her.
