(I stole the pic from Treasure Planet, but the treasure planet ship gave me the idea... so sue me) General synopsis: On a hot desert planet inhabited by a humanoid race ((I have to have a nice sci-fi ish entrance for it to be on this board lol)), the people have taken to the sky, driving huge, wooden ships propelled by large, metal propellars to travel over the "ocean of sand". These ships are the only way to pass safely through the huge waistelands. Passenger ships, merchant ships, and royal ships pass peacefully through these regions, filled with prescious cargo. And where there's prescious sea-born cargo, there's pirates! Interested in joining?

1. No Godmoding! 2. R-e-s-p-e-c-t! 3. Literacy is nice. 4. Intro needs to be DETAILED! I like it when you explain what they look like, thier body type, general personality, etc. That way I don't have to go all the way to profiles to get a general feel for yourcharacter! 5. Cursing… It's..... okay..... but it has to make sense..... and fit your character...... Plus it's filtered! HA HA..... I don't want every other word to be a curse though because that gets annoying!! 6. Use ooc when you are out of character. 7. Use grammar and punctuation. Use quotation marks when your character is talking.... We all go to school here.... I'm assumeing 8. No chat speak! 9. Weapondry- GUNS! Whatever! I likes weapons! 10. I like it when you have more than one character! It makes rps more interesting! But please don't if you have trouble controlling that many! No more than three characters with out my permission. 11. There may be lotso fighting! 12. You may NOT control other people's characters. If I find the rp is moving too slow I can control thier characters, but you cannot 13. I have the right to throw you out of the rp if I want to if you break any of these rules. Have a nice day. I am pretty leanient (sp) with my rules. I'll give you several warnings before I actually chuck you. However, if another member complains you are out automatically.... this also goes hand in hand with not complainging about other people because you will geet them thrown out. Of course I have the judgement to look back on what they did, and descide, but we'llnot go into that. Please make a profile first. First mate will have to be won by someone. And, Because this is a PG-14 rp, I have a few... We'll call em "Guidelines" Romace? Sure! I'll allow it! (MY GOD!) But not too much.... If I get disgusted, you'll have to stop.... or if it gets in the wya of moving the rp along.... so in other words.... open-sex is a no-no ;D Curseing? Hells yes! We're pirates, ain't we? However, should it get too out of hand (and by that I mean, if someone complains... we'll deal) Violence? SURE! Blood and gore is cool for me.... just as long as no one complains..... That's really all... more to add as I see need

((Question: How hi-tech is this setting? Is this space-age-y like Treasure Planet? I need to know for weapons and such.))

((Ehh... Not really.... I mean... there are guns, but no lasers.... No computers at all.... It's kinda more like.... we invented boats for the sea; they invented boats for the sky.))

A wirery young man, with skin dark as the night sky, and eyes that had seen more than their share of oddities, hung from a rope tied just so he could use it as a seat miles above the ground. He wasn't afraid of heights at all, having spent most of his life in the air, so his duty, or "punishment," as Captain Docket called it, did not frighten him in the least. Abdul hung in his rope swing off the stern, with a push broom, cleaning the grime. The youth hummed songs as he did his work.
"How's the view?" Captain Aaron T. Docket called to his least favourite swabby.
"Rather nice, actually," Abdul called back, "You'll have t' think up a better punishment next time sir!"
"Howabout's I tie you to the bottom o' the ship and leave you there for two weeks?" he called back, not sounding angry at all. The pair had these conversations all the time.
"You tried that sir!" Abdul called back, as he scrubbed a particular window vigouracely. This was to the woman's cabin.
"Oh, yes," replied Aaron, stroaking his chin, "I remember that one....."

Eran Sullis stood rigidly at the port-side railing, looking out over the endless dunes. Well, nearly endless... A port town was visible in the shimmery distance. It was on this the first officer's eyes were fixed, watching for any ships that might by coming or going.

"SULLIS!" Aaron yelled loudly. He had no idea where his first officer was, and he needed to express a new plan.

Following the voice, the first mate found his way wordlessly to his captain's side, slightly behind him. "Captain," this spoken word was the first sound the pirate had made thus far. Some people considered his quiet ways of moving 'sneaky', but the man always insisted that they were mearely paranoid.

Aaron Docket jumped. "Oh, there you are," he said in a loud whisper, "You shouldn't scare me. I know what youre trying to do! Kill me! So you can be captain!" He grinned at his first mate. "Soooooo-- he added, "What do you know about Gail's Port?" The port city shone in the distance. The captain meant "will our black market items sell there?"

The mate's solid expression hardly changed as his mouth turned up into a slight smile. "You guessed me once again, sir." He returned his gaze to the city. He would play along. "A good place to resupply," he said, meaning there was plenty of business. "I wouldn't recommend staying for too long, though. Too many Sandsharks." He used the term to refer to navy vessels that prowled the desert ocean.

The Captain stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Excellent. We'll stay for two days. Send out our best entrepenuers," by this he meant 'pick pockets', "and we'll have us a time!"
((.... you can have multiple characters if you want.... since we're the only ones posting here.... so far))
