Oooo!!! I'd love to learn Japanese as well. Can we like have a class via here? Seriously! I watch all these anime and only know about 5 words with any consistency! Which dismays me very much! So I'd like to learn more, even if it's just simple and basic

I wouldn't mind at all, though my knowledge goes only so far, and I would need Melinda to help me out. She knows more than me, obviously. ^^

That'd help a lot. I'm sure there are words and phrases there that I definitely don't know.

I took a basic Japanese class through Community Education, so I know a bit about pronounciation and verbs and sentence structure and some vocab.
Here's your first lesson:
SENTENCE STRUCTURE: Here is a basic sentence: Watashi wa sakana desu. What it means is "I am a fish." The order is "I" SUBJECTMARKER "FISH AM." The verb/verbs goes/go last. Subjects are marked with "wa," which follows at the end of the subject.
Here's another sentence for you: Anata wa kawaii desu! Anata means "you" and kawaii means "cute." So, what did I say, and what do the other 2 parts mean? Ten points to the first person to answer!

RIGHT! And verbs in Japanese don't change for who you're talking to, how many things you're talking about, etc., just for case (like past, present, future, etc.).

I could add a list of the words I know, though some of them are very intelligent guesses based on astute assumptions and uses in sentences that I have seen in fanart. Should I? And btw, most are Inuyasha-esque, since that's what I read Japanese words from--Inuyasha fanfiction.

Either way, really--it doesn't matter.
