I am in Florida, and I was wondering whether anyone else lived near or in Florida, where Wilma hit. It's a bit of a mess where I am...just curious...

Hmm huricane Wilma merged with Hurricane Alpha, and Hirricane Beta is forming. If there is another one after Beta, it will be called Gama, then Delta, then Epsilon, and so on.

What do you mean? After our names the huricane names start to be the greek alphabet. And after Alpha is Beta.

We have names like peoples names.....such as Tracy, Alison, Phil, Denise, Clancy etc etc....and they weren't just names off the top of my head...they were actual cyclones.

Well you see, the way hurricanes and tornadoes work (Not sure about cyclones...) is it starts with A. They are given a name that begins with A. So fairy dust, that's how I'm guessing it works with cyclones too. They go down the alpha bet using the first letter and giving them names. There is already a list made up for hurricanes. So when it's hurricane season next year, the names have already been decided. In 2010 we will hear the names we did in 2005. However we won't hear the names of ones that were terrible. Like we will never hear Katrina and Ivan again.
If hurricanes go past Z in the alphabet - Like they did this year. - Then they go to the Greek alphabet. Alpha, Beta, Gama, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Etc.
