Ok all! Sorry for the short break in posting. I'm totally clueless on what kind of Dean to create for now as I want his/her to be adoptable/replaceable. And until I get that figured out I simply can't move the new trainees forward. I'll try to get inspiration striking tomorrow.

Since Arch seems to have vanished on us I'm placing his character out of the way and basically in stasis until he's back. Probably an internet loss on his part it's not the first time

Ack, what RP Rules board? I thought I read everything I was supposed to... >_< Also.. um.. Senna is supposedly leading Malloriel to the Dean... only I have no idea where that is... Did you make a Dean character? I can't really continue that part of the RP until I have a clue where I'm going and who will be there (people in the hall? just the dean? a guard? etc). The only Valdemar book I read is "Exiles Valor" and once, when I was REALLY young, "To Catch a Thief" (that IS a valdemar book, right? I am hoping that I've remember right). So sorry for being stupid now and then!

Well the only Thief book in Valdemar is not old, it's only about... 4 years old maybe... Have you not read the secodn Exile book? Exile's Honor? It's the second half of Alberich's story.
As for the Rule thing, I'm sure you read them but you are supposed to copy and paste in the little statement at the end of them saying you read them and will abide by them etc. It's just a formality but it can become important later down the line as the RP gets more members.
As for the Dean, I do have one named his profile in in that section, his office is on the ground floor of Collegia in center of the hall in between two classrooms. I'm trying to figureout now how to post up a floor plan will get to that soon as I can.

I think there is a book called To Catch a Thief that is set in a similar fantasy type world, so if you're not remembering Skif's tale at all then it's likely you read the other book, I've known of others to have the same confusion. And yes :: is fine

Ack... does the historian-Dean speak common? Just need to know this before I put up my post.... And who plays the dean?
Could we get a schedule of times (time to wake up, breakfast, classes breakdown, etc), and a map?

Yes, all Full Heralds speak Common, it's a required course. I will RP him but it will have to wait a couple days as I'm currently in the middle of a small home crisis. Sorry. I suggest finding out he's busy at the moment, (via Companion grapevine) give Malloriel a tour and hopefully by then I'll be back and he can be unbusy.

Thanks for letting me know... Had something up my sleeve to buy for time anyway And now that I'm re-reading "Take a Thief" (none of which i remember... so you may be right that I must have read something different... sigh) I am learning the setup of the Collegia. I'm glued to the book. Also got Owlflight. It's helping me understand valdemar better. Sorry Ive been a little busy too... it being a holiday and things.

Just another question.. would a person from Karse speak common? And if they learned Valdemaran, would they speak like Alberich?
Character profile is almost done, REALLY. Just as I'm reading the books again, I'm getting all these extra questions...

Whether they speak common would depend in thier previous life. A trader family person or anyone dealing with traders, like farmers etc. would probably know at least some common. And yes when thye first learn Valdmearan they would speak like Alberich. Over time thier grammer and syntax would correct itself and such.

This'll be difficult then... as i can't think of a reason for a young thief to have learned any common...
