Steelwings nodded to her and took a seat after tying the pack horses leads to the post. He didn't have to wait long before the page returned with Neverwind.
He stood up as his one time teacher approached and untied the horses. Also in Taledras, "Thank you Neverwind. The journey was long but uneventful."
Steelwings followed Neverwind with the leads of the other horses. Chuckling, "Yes, I thought it best not to frighten people unnessecarily."
::Kreea, it's safe for you to come in now.::
::Good. Coming.:: She decided for a rather dramatic entrance and tucking her wings in dove sharply down with a cry that drew all eyes upward.
Steelwings had some forewarning by her mental tone and holding out his heavily gauntleted left arm braced himself for impact.
Just short of impact Kreea opened her enormous wings and braked so she wouldn't hurt him when she landed. After steading herself the black eagle neatly closed her wings and hopped onto her perch on one of the pack horses.
Grinning at her fondly, "Show off." Turning to Neverwind, "I am slightly unsure as to which Collegia I'm supposed to be enrolling in. Ironrain was a little vague on that detail."

Malloriel nodded seriously as he requested she put up a stronger shield as well as asking Varrin to keep an eye on her Firestarting. The shield was easy enough to manage and she set it up right then.
::Varrin there's been an...interesting development here. Seems I have a second Gift, Firestarting. The Dean asks if you'll watch for it doing anything till I can get some training.::
::Certainly! We wouldn't want that to get out of hand.::
Knowing a dismissal when she heard one Malloriel nodded again and left his office.

(Neverwind, Steelwings)
"I don't doubt that, never the big one for words was he?" Neverwind said with a grin. "Bright Day Kreea, you'll turn many heads with acting like that. I trust you'll tone it down around non-Vale horses yes?" He added in slight reprimand to the bird, for eagles where the brightest f the bondbirds usually and whiel most would forget the warning easily he rather thought Kreea would not.
"Now as for which collegia, Mages I think. You're metal working better fits into the Unaffiliated Collegia but with your Magic also used in your forging it's best I think to offically focus your studies there." Neverwind said then as he led the way to the palace stables. "Less confusion for the Blues." He added with a chuckle.

Steelwings laughed, "No he most certainly isn't."
At Neverwinds first comment to her Kreea drew herself up in a stately pose and raised her crest. When he then scolded her slightly the crest went flat against her head and hunched down, bobbing her head to tell him she understood.
Steelwings was rather amused at Kreea's stunt but understood what would have happened had the horses not been used to the bondbird already.
He listened as Neverwind explained which of the Collegia he would be attending officially and nodded. "That's a good point." Still following Neverwind, "Are there many other Mage students right now? For that matter how many students are there between the Collegia?"

(Steelwings and Neverwind)
"Hmm of Mage students... there are only 2 at the moment, you'll make the third, and a mixed bunch you are. Jentaria is a Journeywoman now, and a 'regular' mage plus a Dreamwalker. Jakkar is just arrived and is a Heraldic trainee. And then you of course, being an Artificer mage. With my being a Weather mage it should make for interesting lessons!" Neverwind said with a chuckle. "As for the other collegia... I honestly am not sure though I think all told there's not more that a couple dozen students running around most days. Of course I rarely see the Blue students so there are probably more than I realise."
((OOC: and before anyone asks there are always a good 5-10 nameless/faceless students in each collegia because it's simply not logical for there only to be 2-4 students in each, with the possible exception of Mages because it's one of the rarer Gifts among Valdemarans.))

::I think I like this young one.::
Chuckling mentally, ::You like anyone who pays you compliments featherhead. But back to the topic at hand...what to do about the youngling.::
Thinking hard, ::I don't think it will do any good to report this and quite possibly a good deal of harm to do so.::
Amberhart gave Tern a good one over, ::I agree. Let's continue as we've started then.::
Turning to Tern and smiling, "That is quite understandable and no blame to you. If I were in your place most likely I would do the same thing." Taking a seat on a nearby cushion he waved her over, "Since you are here and we are most assurdedly awake why don't we get to know eachother and you can ask all those questions that you no doubt are burning to ask."

Steelwings listened intently as Neverwind spoke, fixing the names of the other mage students firmly in his memory. He was most eager to begin his studies and get to meet both his fellow mage trainees and the trainees in the other Collegia, especially those in Heralds.
By now they'd reached the stables. ::Kreea it might be best to wait for me outside. Wouldn't want you to accidentally spook the other horses.::
::Right. Will wait on roof.:: With that she launched herself skyward and quickly found a comfortable perch on the stable roof to wait.

(Steelwings and Neverwind)
Neverwind introduced Steelwings to the groom on duty and then proceeded to help him lodge and untack his horses. "There is always someone on duty here, if you wish to ride and don't have time to do the tacking just send a page with a note requesting the time and horse to be tacked. Most likely however you will not have much time for riding and unless they are told otherwise the grooms and trainers exercise every horse daily." He explained.
(blech sorry uninspired just now)
