This is a little place where I will input any and all facts that are pertinent knowledge to living within Velgarth. I will separate them by type. If you have a question about something you'd like to see on here please post it in the OOC forum and I will add it here with an answer if it's not already here.

General FAQ Can I be King/Queen/Heir of Valdemar/Karse/Hardorn etc?It depends, these positions require dedicated, knowledgeable people to play them. But it never hurts to ask Can I be an Adept?Maybe. I will be limiting Adepts as it is listed in the Persona Rules. May I have a Really Rare, or unheard of before, Gift?Ultra Rare Gifts are also limited and at this time you may not have more than 1 per member, not per persona. I want my persona to have 10 Gifts! Can I?Sorry No. Gifts are limited to a maximum of 3 and they must be scaled as shown in the Persona Rules under the Gifts section. Who is the Son of the Sun?The Son of the Sun is the leader of the Karsite religion the worships Vkandis, God of the Sun. The Son of the Sun is not necessarily male, and is hand picked by the god to represent him in Karse. The Son is the most powerful person in Karse, all diplomatic relations go through him/her, though there is a monarchy there as well. What type of characters do you need more of?Right now, we need everyone but we do already have a few Herald trainees so some Healer and Bardic trainees plus folks outside of Valdemar and teachers would be most welcome!

Valdemar/Herald Specific Questions
What is the layout of Haven? Please see the Haven RP board for a description there.
What is the layout of the Palace? Forthcoming
How do classes work? Many classes will not be played out in this RP. You may state your character is in classes that are appropriate to current level of training. When we do play out a class it will done in a more structured round robin style with specific tags at the end of each post.
How long does it take to become a full Herald/Bard/Healer in this RPG? In the books it takes about 5 years for any trainee to finish classes and then they go in Internship or Journey period for 1 to 1 1/2 years. In our RP that will translate into 1 played out class for each 'year' and at least one non-class storyline. Then a Internship or Journey period of 10+ posts at least 3 good sized paragraphs long OR 20-30 paragraph long round robin posts with the characters Mentor if played by someone else.
What is a Companion? Companions are the beings that Choose Heralds. They are ALL born in Companions Field in Haven. They grow up knowing each other like any small community. They do NOT go on Search for their Chosen until they are at least 10. The most powerful and respected Companion is the Grove-Born Stallion, Companion to the Monarch's Own. All other Companions defer to him in any matters of importance.
Is there anybody that can't be Chosen? Yes, only humans may be Chosen and Companions do NOT choose where there is evil in a person's heart.
Can I have a Grove-Born Companion? I will not rule this out entirely but you have to have a darn good reason, you must be very literate and you must have read all of the Arrows, Mage Winds and Storm series books. And even if I do allow it they will be very limited, probably to only two other than the Monarch Own's Companion.
What is a "Grove-Born" Companion? Grove-Born means that a Companion appears full grown from out of The Grove, a small clearing holding the Bell Tower. Grove-Borns are more powerful than normal born Companions and generally only appear to Choose someone who is going to be pivotal in someway to Valdemar's future. The Grove-Born Stallion is the Companion that Chooses the Monarch's Own, he does not age and if his Herald dies he Chooses another. If the Stallion dies another immediately appears from the Grove and if the previous Herald still lives the new Stallion Chooses him or her. Otherwise they go on immediate Search. There are 5 Grove-Born Stallions, to fan knowledge, that rotate through the years sometimes spending several lifetimes here, sometimes getting less than one. Roland is the most famous of the Grove-Born Stallions.
What is the Bell Tower and Death Bell? The Bell Tower is a small chapel like affair in the Grove in the middle of Companions Field, the large hanging in the chapel has no clapper. Despite this, when a Herald dies, this bell, The Death Bell, tolls for the lost Herald and Companion.
What are the duties of the Monarch's Own? The Monarch's Own, sometimes called Queen's Own or King's Own, is the closest adviser to the Monarch(s). He or she must act as a friend, confidant, protector, adviser and sometimes conscience or lack of one. It is a role help by the Chosen of the Grove Born stallion and is a life-time role. Only death ends this duty, and it's rare the Monarch's Own lives to a 'ripe old age'.
