Rules:1. All of the rules of the Academy will be upheld and maintained in this RP. NO EXCEPTIONS! 2. The RP master is The Boss. If, for example, I say your character needs work and a more detailed profile, you fix it. 3. All posts are to remain PG-13 or below. 4. All characters may only have powers that have been determined in the race descriptions, and some may be limited. If everybody has a character with magic, it will make the role play less fun. 5. Mixed races will be limited by the RP master. In order to play a character that is a mixed race, you must first play a character that is not. 6. The RP master reserves the right to limit races and other types of characters. 7. New races will be considered, but a detailed description of the race and the character must be submitted to the RP master via PM before a decision will be made. 8. Original characters ONLY. For example, you can’t have a half-okami named InuYasha who has a large magical sword inherited from his father, or a blonde and beautiful elf named Legolas who never misses a shot. 9. Constant posting of one-liners will NOT be tolerated. While fine on occasion, please try to do more than “So-and-so nodded” for your posts. 10. Similarly, run-on, pointless posts will not be tolerated. Try to stay on-topic. 11. You may have as many characters as you want. HOWEVER—if you have five or more, at least one of them MUST be evil. Bad guys can be fun to play, and it’s more fun to RP if there’s a force to go up against! 12. I don’t care if you’re a beginning RPer, but please try to be literate and fair. If the RP master asks you to change something or stop doing something, it is to help make the RP more fun, not just to pick on you! 13. Have fun or the RP master will send legions of vampires after you to suck your blood!

Races: Humans: The most common people. They are sometimes intolerant of other races and tend to group together in cities and towns, rarely living any distance away from others of their race. Some are talented in magic, though it is not the most common ability. They are very short-lived, and rarely live beyond a hundred years old. Alliance: Both good and evil.
Elves: Nature-loving people that tend to live in dense forests. They are quiet and soft-spoken, and tend to be slightly shorter than humans. They are typically slender and elegant, and have delicately pointed ears. They often will have nature magics, though not always. They like to wear natural colors. They are not immortal, though they do typically live to be at least a thousand years old. They have their own language, though practically all speak Common. Alliance: Good.
Centaurs: Have a horse’s body and a human’s torso. They excel at archery and are excellent hunters and smiths. They eat a lot, as they have to maintain a large body mass. When among only others of their race, they do not tend to wear clothes, though the women have begun wearing tops more frequently to help other races be more comfortable around them. It is an insult to even suggest riding on a centaur’s back. They are one of the proudest races. Alliance: Good.
Demons: Demons have three forms—a “human” form, an animal form, and a third, demonic form that comes out when their true name is spoken. Their “human” forms have two sets of ears—one human, one animal. They can speak in both their animal and human forms, but cannot usually control themselves or speak clearly in their third form. When in their third form, they can only be controlled by the one who said their true name, and after entering this form once it is easier for them to return. Demons have their own languages, but some (not all) speak Common, as well. Demon names are taken from appearance or personality, and demons will often change their name when they reach adulthood. They grow slower than other races, and are not physically or emotionally adults until they are about a hundred years old. They typically live to be at least five hundred and sometimes up to seven hundred years old. They can have mixed demon children, but human-demon children, as well as being very frowned down upon and extremely rare, are sterile and not able to have children themselves. Few demons will mingle with humans. Their names tend to describe either their appearance or personality--such as "Snowball" for a demon with all white fur. If their lives are saved by another being, they owe them a life debt and will usually tell them their true name. Alliance: Both good and evil. Okami: Wolf “demons.” They have three forms—a “human” form, a wolf form, and a third, demonic form that comes out when their true name is spoken. They are larger than the typical human, as well as stronger. They are proud and brave, as well as good fighters. Kitsune: Fox “demons.” They have three forms—a “human” form, a fox form, and a third, demonic form that comes out when their true name is spoken. They are cunning and like tricks. Neko: Cat “demons.” They have three forms—a “human” form, a cat form, and a third, demonic form that comes out when their true name is spoken. They are elegant and graceful, and usually slender in their human forms. Their cat forms are usually larger than the typical domestic cat.
Vampires: Blood sucking people who are usually from one of the other races. A vampire is created when they are bit and killed by another vampire. They hate crosses and anything religious, as well as garlic and light. They can be killed by stranding them in sunlight, by driving a wooden stake into their heart, or by decapitating them. Vampires live a very long time and are supposed by many to be immortal. They can transform into bats and are very strong and fast. Typically, anybody who is found dead with a neck wound will be decapitated before burial to ensure that they do not become a vampire… but vampires continue to come about, as it can be difficult to find every person who is killed by one. A vampire will have memories of their previous life, but will have a craving for blood (particularly human blood) that must be satisfied. They have no souls, and, therefore, no conscience. Alliance: Evil.
Undead: The undead are those who are brought back to life by a necromancer. They have no souls and are controlled only by the necromancer’s will. They can be killed by being burnt to ashes or by being sprinkled with holy water. Decapitation will do nothing. Although they are “alive” in a manner of speaking, they continue to rot, and their smell alerts people to their presence. Alliance: Evil.
Necromancers: Necromancers are mages that work with death, performing spells with captured souls or dead bodies. Once human (or another race), these beings have lost whatever humanity they had and have given themselves completely over to evil. Their souls are degraded over time, as they put a small part of themselves into each being they raise from death. They can live a very long time, and get to the point where they can only die by being killed—something that becomes increasingly difficult the longer they live. Alliance: Evil.

It had been many years since the races had seen war, and they had grown apart. Rumors of undead remained, but they were used as stories to frighten children and few believed them anymore. Now, however, things had changed.
The Dead are walking again, it is said, their flesh falling from their bones in rotted clumps. A new necromancer is rumored to have come forth, though none knew his name or face. The humans do not believe the other races when they say that war is returning and have refused to hold council, saying that the undead are nothing but stories and legends.
They are wrong.

Mykel's family's farm was located at the outskirts of Port of Life. It was a long way from there to where he was heading. His parents weren't pleased.
"Tell me again why you're leaving?" his father had asked.
"I'm going to study new farming techniques," Mykel had lied. How could he tell them he was going to the Isle of the Undead? Surely they wouldn't understand his quest.
"You're practically at the human capital. What could you possibly learn far away?"
"I don't know," said Mykel, his eyes looking past his father. The Isle seemed to be calling, even from so far away. "Maybe the centaurs know something that we don't."
Mykel didn't know anything about the centaurs, actually, but that became the focus of his argument. After a long time, he still hadn't completely convinced his father, but his father had resigned himself.
A quick goodbye was said to the family, and Mykel was free --free to study the Dead art, to prove once and for all that necromancy could be used as a force for good.

Nerissa faced off with the bandits, she didn't really want to hurt a bunch of humans this close to Port of Life, even if they had attacked her first. So she was trying to reason with them.
"Listen just because I'm a centaur filly doesn't mean I'm helpless. I really don't want to have to kill you all, but I will if you leave me no choice." She warned the scruffy and smelly men.
((tags anyone traveling around Port of Life.))

Sigh. This was becoming rather, oh how do you say. . . Boring.
Sam tapped his chin with the butt-end of the blue calligraphy pen he carried everywhere. He could not remember the latin for this animal. How pathetic.. It's just a jackrabbit. Surely, you can at least draw it. But alas, he could not, and out of the anger emnating from this forgetful stage of the day, he plunged his pen into the aging paper in his lap, and nearly penetrated the skin of his leg. He tapped the spot where he nearly stabbed himself and winced. That would probably be a very small. . . and very painful bruise. He rubbed the stubble on his cheek with his thumb in thought. How could he be losing his touch with jackrabbits? He LOVED rabbits. He OWNED a rabbit. He practically owned what people today would call a "petting zoo", but that was beside the point. He sighed again, and stood abruptly, scaring the squirell that was watching him back into him home in the large oak tree.
"Perhaps this is a phase?" He began to himself, pacing the forest clearing with an ignorance to all living beings around him. "Yes, a phase! I know what a jackrabbit is called, it's called a-- Well, I'll read about it when I get home. And I cannot sketch it for I have brought the wrong pen!" He raised the unmistakenable pen up two inches away from his nose and focused so heavily on the tip that he thought his eye were glowing. Yup. It's the right one. Or maybe this forest just wasn't the right one. He moved over to the Elven Lands for what? Amnesia?

Nerissa had been lucky and only had to wound one of the men with a well placed arrow before they scared off. Now she continued her way to the human's capitol. She garnered many strange looks and even stares once there but it was farily short work getting entrance to the city and directions to a respectable tavern.
Reaching the tavern she tipped the stable boy to go inside and garner her a meal and drink. No proper centaur would even attempt entering a human establishment such as a tavern, the doors were simply not wid eor high enough in most cases.
Soon she was standing outside in a nice little courtard area eating a good stew and drinking a... passable ale.

Okay--few problems here. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get your profiles approved BEFORE bringing your characters into play.
Secondly... There are only a FEW, SET types of demons. If you want to create another type of ANIMAL demon, bring it up with me.
THIRDLY--this is a MEDIEVAL setting. No jeeps.
I'll be deleting a few posts, and will be specifically pointing out the problems with each character, shortly.
Thank you.

Sam stretched and yawned with a sound so loud it must've shook half the wood. "Excuse me." He paced some more around the clearing, just a few more cycles, prodding his lip with his pen, each poke with an increasing amount of force. "It's been a bad day," he said to himself, or if he was actually talking to somebody or anything, it could've been directed to the bug-eyed rabbit before him. "I'll just go on home now." He looked in the direction of some trees. And then in another. Which /way/ was home? "Oh, excellent," he groaned. He then proceeded to mumble nonsense words beneath his breath and wag his finger in random directions with his eyes closed, until at last he opened his eyes and found his finger to be pointing northward, of course, he did not know nor care what direction he was going. As long as he got back home before the tea got cold.
