Title: Mirror Shadows
Rating: Fantasy PG-13
Plot: The world of Lunaria is in peril. An evil sorcerer, Verdanis is bent on ruling the entire planet, at the cost of the people. High Queen Selea is young and inexperienced, and missing, sort of.
Her soul has been split and part of it captured in a mirror, one of Verdanis' evil plots. She has retained parts of herself, the worst parts unfortunately, as her kindness and her senses of duty, honor, and fair play, were what Verdanis stole.
Of course the High Council has not told the world at large, fearing a fast, wide-spread turmoil if the populace knew their High Queen was now a cold hearted, calculating schemer since the High Ruler's attitude toward life directly affects the 15 kingdoms. But they have sent out a call for specific hero's to come to the palace, ostensibly for a special reward ceremony honoring them. The goal is to stop Verdanis, regain Selea's other half and set the world back to rights.
Setting: Lunaria, a world of magic. There are 3 main continents, each split into 5 kingdoms. Amzoria is the lands of warriors, Crestin is the lands of magic, and Northel is the lands of the wise. Now this is not to say there are not people of all types on all the continents, but these are the traits the continents are known for.
The High Palace, home of the High Ruler, is set on a relatively small, extremely defensible island in the Northern Sea. The Ruler is chosen by the Gods and not man, as the best person to govern the world, and their emotions and way of life directly affect the people of Lunaria through a form of godly magic.
Selea is the youngest Queen ever chosen. And her reign follows the most difficult reign of Ambrose a man who had become bitter with his enforced Rulership and so had, in turn, made the world into a more bitter place to be. Selea's light happy ways were expected to make a radical change for the better in Lunaria, and now that is all in jeopardy.
*Note* This is a Medieval style setting, nothing high-tech or even Iron Age.
