Victoria would normally have waited for later to dine, but she was letting her instincts get the better of her. A thin red line outlined her brown pupils as she neared her target even more, causing him to stare into them. She started backing up toward the back room, but, sadly, it was occupied, by a couple who had the same idea. At least, it looked like the guy was a vampire, mouth latched onto the girl's neck. He had too much color to be a vampire, though.
Victoria pouted a little. The back room was where she always had her blood... Still, she had to eat, the anticipation of the blood running into her nearly taking control of every thought. She guided her cutie through the crowded dance floor, swaying to the upbeat music, causing her victim to do the same, keeping his eyes glued to hers. She went out the door, up the stairs to the ground level, and started searching for an abandoned alley where she could eat.

"Victoria what are you doing?" Rewlet asked through telepathy. ((If she's that old then she should know him.))

"I'm sure you would..." Darrien mumbled, unaware of Rewlet's attempts to contact another vampire. "Good," he sid, a bit louder. "In that case, goodbye." Darrien began to walk away, grateful for whatever the minor vampire had to do. The next time we meet, Serrath...you're teaching me telepathy, he thought to himself. And maybe even a bit of mind-reading. I will not be caught off-guard by a kid vampire again...

Darrien turned on his heel and glared at the kid. "STAY OUT OF MY MIND!!!!" he roared, storming off, trying putting as much distance between the kid and himself as possible as he blanked his mind.

Just shut up already! I am aware of that! Darrien had finlly figured out how to respond to telepathy confidently. He began to sprint back to the 'house' he and Serrath shared together. He could already feel the heat of the sun, and that pushed him on faster.

Victoria ignored the child that spoke to her. His presence had left anyway. She quickly found a secluded spot, filled her veins with lifeblood, and, turning into a bat, flew home before the sun rose. Her home, incidentally, was nowhere near the home of the child or the other vampire that she had sensed.

((Um, Victoria is now nowhere near you, waiting out the day. She also had put up a mental block against telepathy earlier. Isn't there some sort of physical limit on telepathic ability? Besides, as was mentioned in my post, she found a discrete (meaning hidden) place to do it, probably in an alley or something. If someone saw her it was a drunk hobo.))

((( 'K. )))
((( This is a really long post, so I'm going to break it into smaller ones so itdoesn't look as big and people are more willing to read it. )))
Come on, come on...faster...He willed himself, reaching speeds that seemed invisible to normal humans. There! He spied his house, and skidded to a stop in front of it. Dashing inside, he collapsed to the floor. A voice issued from one of the darker corners of the room. "I suppose I should buy you a watch, now, shouldn't I..." A pair of crystal blue eyes matching Darrien's own appeared, and the familiar figure of Serrath stepped into view. "That was close, you know. Just a minute longer..."
"I know, I know! Sheesh..." Darrien walked over to a full-length mirror in another corner of the room, and examined his face. A little red, but that should heal during sleep...
"Serrath..." he began, "I...ran into another vampire...after you left."
"Oh?" Serrath replied, seating himself in an armchair against one of the walls and watching Darrien. (c)

Darrien turned around to face his (I'm going to call Serrath Darrien's 'master,' but only because I don't think I should refer to him as 'sensei,' or, ‘teacher’…unless you don’t mind me calling him ‘sensei’?) master, and continued. “He seemed like just a child, not more than ten or eleven years old…but he was powerful. Serrath…not only could he fly and teleport, but he could use telepathy, and…read my mind. Serrath, I’ve been with you for almost half a year…” He trailed off.
“…‘When am I going to teach you things like that,’ right??” Serrath finished, looking bored. “All in due time, Darrien…” (c)

“But Serrath! He…he fought with me…and he might have killed me, if he was serious about it. But…he was toying with me! What if I run into a vampire who won’t stop? I need to be able to defend myself…or at least run away, if needed…”
Serrath sighed, and stood up, walking over to Darrien. “Darrien…you’re not ready for that yet. You’re still not entirely used to being a vampire.”
Darrien stared up at Serrath angrily. “Then, when will you teach me?! Serrath…” his face softened, and he looked away. (c)
