Sekuri pushed her hand through her hair lightly as she stood on top of the church ruins. <Holy ground, I'm not supposed to be able to touch it.....> The wind blew the skirt of her dress forward as her pale ankle shown lightly....She had only been here a year....And already the rumors had spread...<Wretched humans..> Her blazing blue eyes scanned the graveyard in the distance....<Hollowed ground....Stupid rumors....>The wind shifted directions as it brushed her skirt in another direction. <Why? Why must every story start the same way?>

Rewlet floated above a building and smiled menicingly. "Stupid mortals." He said. "They wander around without a care and don't realy care what happen's to them!" He spat. "But that's not my problem."

Darrien was walking through a foggy graveyard that night, searching for...something. As he passed the graves, he thought to himself, Why am I here? I shouldn't be in this accursed place...Even though he himself was dead, he didn't like it. Darrien hated having to rely on weak mortals for nourishment...That was the only part of vampirism he didn't like, though. But it was enough for him.
"What are you looking for?" A voice called out from the mist.
Darrien whipped around, searching for its source.
"Relax, Darrien, it's only me." A tall figure stepped out from behind a particularly large grave stone.
"Serrath..." Darrien said. "Don't sneak up on me like that."
"Perhaps if you had been paying attention...I was being particularly careful to walk as loudly as I could without being completely conspicuous...Tsk tsk, Darrien. What on your mind?" Serrath was Darrien's mentor, the vampire that had shared its gift with him.
"Nothing that you need be concerned about, I assure you..." Darrien turned away, and began to head for the entance. But Serreth, swiftly, glided in front of him, blocking his path. "Get out of my was, Serrath."
"Not until you tell me what's going on. You've been coming back here almost every night for two weeks..."
Darrien tried to push past Serrath, but he couldn't get by. "I don't want to talk about it, okay!?" he said forcefully.
Sighing, Serrath moved aside, allowing Darrien to pass. Darrien began to walk out, but then he stopped, turned, and looked down at Serrath's feet. He saw that they were hovering just three inches off the ground, but it was enough to annoy Darrien. "Areyou ever going to teach me to float like that??" he asked.
"Perhaps..." Serrath answered mysteriously. "In time..."
Darrien glared at him, then stalked out of the graveyard.
Serrath followed silently, thoroughly enjoying his torment of Darrien--after all, only he could safely annoy the boy (I'm changing his age after this post) without worrying about a finding a dagger in his back when he woke up the next night.

Darrien continued on, aware that his mentor was following him, but making no move to indicate that he knew. He just walked on silently.
Suddenly; however, Serrath spoke. "Well, as much as I'd love to carry on our wonderful conversation together..." he paused, snickering, "Sadly, I have other business to attend to...Farewell, Darrien." And he faded out of site, much to Darrien's annoyance.
Is he ever going to teach me that, as well??
Darrien sighed, and looked around. He was now in the city, and, upon further inspection of the buildings, notinced another figure, floating above a building. This one was too small to be Serrath...Another one?? he thought, to his dismay. And he seems powerful as well.
Casually drifting closer to the figure, he decided to sit down in a nearby deserted park, wondering if the figure saw him or not.

Vampires have telepathy, too? Darrien thought before realizing that the one who just contacted him may have heard that thought.
...H...hello? How...how do you know my name? he asked, unsure of how to communicate telepathically.

That's the...How do you know about me?! he demanded, staring up at the figure. They were sihouetted against the moon, so Darrien couldn't see the Vampire's face, or if they were even male or female. And he couldn't figure it out from the voice in his mind, either.

In the basement floor of the building, there were neon lights in the window, jovially proclaiming this club's name to be "La Vida Oscura" (The Dark Life). Victoria almost always preferred going to clubs with Spanish names, because it usually meant one thing: Latin Music!
She had noticed the presence of 2 other vampires, but she wasn't going to let them ruin her fun if she could help it. She just continued dancing, enforcing a mental barrier against telepathy. You can learn a lot in 50 years. Or was it 52 now?
Time seemed to blur in the club, where only dancing, drinking, and fun existed. Nothing wrong could possibly happen, unless Victoria wanted it to.
There he is. Dinner, thought Victoria, noticing someone with short black hair, a slightly muscular body, and a skin-tight shirt. There were many girls trying to dance with him, but she would be the one to get him, and feed on him.

"Watch your back Darrien!." He said disapearing and reapearing behind Darrien with his sythe at his back.
