The Setting: Spring has just past and summer is on its way, foals are excited and the herd is soon going to be on the move once more. The new lives in the herd make it almost flawless. But this summer that is arriving holds terrible threats for the ‘Crystal Dawn’ herd, one of which is water. With the hot summer days and cold nights in the past there has been plenty on water in field of juicy grass but as the summer gets closer it is becoming merciless to any supply of water the herd holds dear. There only hope of survival is to find a place where water is plentiful. But the only one available that is not overtaken by wolf packs or overrun by human villages is down in a deep valley, a place where the herd would be safe for the summer to pass...

It was finally morning when Storm awoke, he had drifted off asleep wile keeping watch over the herd. He looked around franticly for any sign of peril but as he saw none he calmed down and went for a drink at a flowing stream nearby. When he reached it he lowered his head for a long drink.
On his way back he encounted that a number of the other streams nearby had become lower 'this can't be good' he thought to himself but he decided not to inform the herd, it may just be some of the water got slashed out, or rather alot of it. Then he continued on until he came to the herd again and waited for others to wake.
((you may post now...))

Miakoda was already awake when Storm was returning from the water. She was leaving by the time he had arrived, off for a morning stroll. She went a few hundred meters down the river when she arrived at a crossing. She moved through the shallow water with light hoofs, letting the chilled clear waters wake her more. At the end of the crossing was a large area of trees, Miakoda entered with out hesitation. The leaves of the surrounding trees were damp with dew, Miakoda nostrils filled with the sweet scent of morning.
After a long walk, the sun was almost fully up and the herd would be waking, Miakoda decided to run back. She galloped between trees and when she came to the crossing she flew straight over it. It only took her a short time to reach the herd again. Slowing down she headed towards the water to get herself a refreshing drink. Returning she saw Storm and gave him a happy morning greeting before lowering her head to eat some long juicy grass.

Narmi looked up from where she lay asleep a few seconds before and saw Miakoda "Hey" she said in a sleepy mumble, hardly noticible in the breaze. She then saw her brother and got up slowely, walked toward him and gave him a soft nuzzle before trotting over to the area Miakoda was grazing and joined her friend happily but she still felt like she would fall over any moment... she felt so tired!
She then looked up from eating a little later and watched as Storm cantered off hurridly, he looked worried about something... 'maybe i'll talk to him later' she thought'.

Wind-Walker plodded along with the rest of the herd. Grazing periodically. She looked up and whinnied a question to storm her brown mane billowing in the wind. Her emerald eyes then traveled across the browning green grass to find Miakoda frolicking merrily.
Wind-Walker was to tired to play she needed water so she carefully plodded to the riverside and drank sparingly of their space water supply.

((Hello, hello. I highly recommend you go drink before you die of tiredness)) Miakoda continued her grazing until she noticed Narmi was distracted. Following her eyes she too saw Storm rush off.
((What is he up to?)) She asked questioningly, her eyes narrowing as he grew smaller with every movement.

((ooc: Fairy Dust, little request... please put speach in speach marks, it took me a few times to be able to make out it wasn't ooc))
When Storm arrived back at the meadow he realised quite a few of the herd were now awake and happy, then he saw Narmi giving him a questionably evil glare so he walked along to her to try calm her. No matter how powerful he could be he had nearly perfect knowlege of how grumpy a mare could get when provoked so when he reached her Storm gave her an innocent look and made up an excuse for leaving so ubruptly.

Wind-walker raised her head from the stream. She noticed where her hooves now sat had been water only a short while a go. "How can water disappear so quickly?" She asked herself in an annoyed way. She then, feeling refreshed, went around to say good morning to everyone in the herd. Miakoda then Karmi and Storm.
She must have caught a stone in her hoof while last moving for her back right hoof hurt slightly. She ignored it, when they moved next it would fall out. If any of the herd had noticed her lame they had said nothing.

Once Narmi had finished her lecture with Storm she became happier and went for a drink at the stream, but when she got there she also realised it was lower than usual. She discarded it for the moment as she had just noticed Wind-walker, awake. "Hey!" she said happily trotting over toward Wind-walker hoping not to seem to awake for she had a feeling she was going to be conned into something that needed energy. "When'd you wake up?" she asked a little bit calmer. "I am sooooooo tired!" she exclaimed but she couldn't hold what she had to say much longer "Did you notice the stream.. it seemed to be well... not as much water today" she thought on it for a few precious moments before reaching down to itch her leg.

Wind-Walker nodded in greeting to Narmi. The whickered softly "Yes i had noticed getting bad isnt it?" He eyes wondered to the waters surface her heart thudding with dread. She then added her answer to Narmi's second question "I woke a fare while ago now, couldn't sleep well anyway." She scrapped the earth with one nervous hoof her eyes traveled to Storm admiring his rippling muscles and well built pillars.

Storm looked up from where he stood. Most of the herd were awake now. This was what he was thinking; 'should i tell them the facts or should i wait until later... later might be too late.. oh i don't know'. But then he looked over to his sister and Wind-walker and wondered what it would be like if there was no water to give them. He then decided to get the herd opn the move.
"get up" he said softly to those still asleep and then trumpeted out "were moving on!" and started to wark to the south without there reply, he knew there would be questians but he had his reasons not to tell them.

Wind-Walker sighed and followed the herd as they moved on again her foot ached and her thirst raged ond espite the water she had drank. Fatigue was setting in, no one could walk much longer, what was storm thinking?
She whickered as her lame hoof flared with pain. She bit her lip to hide her pain and limped onwad hoping no one would notice.

Miakoda followed the herd, staying up front so she wasn't made slow. She never did like to walk at a slow pace. So after trotting around the herd like an over grown foal she started to get thirsty again, but by now they were well out of range of water. Settling down she walked over to Wind-walk.
"Hey are you OK?" She asked looking at Wind-walkers hoof and noticing it had swelled "Your hoof looks bad"
((OCC: sorry Falcon, I miss read the rules))

Wind-Walker looked at Diakoda and nodded "I'm fine" She lied her hoof hurt dreadfully but she plodded onward trying to keep up with the herd.
