"OK what ever you say" Miakoda trotted off to the front next to Storm.
"Hey, how are you going" She asked "Do you know how long we have to go on, cause i know there are some in desperate need of water" She looked at Storm. She loved him, for he had been her brother since she had lost her family and joined the herd, she was lucky to have him and Narmi, they were her family.

(( Its okay ))
Narmi had also realised something was wrong with Wind-walker so she went to see what it was. She dropped back and looked at her with a worried expression "What happened to your hoof... oh... and don't say nothing because i won't believe it" she said poking out her tongue jokingly. She was worried about the herd and that her brother might be driving them too hard but she didn't like to show it.

Wind-walker sighed and looked at Narmi her hoof was swolen and red, it was also bleeding sluggishly "I dont know exactly i think i stepped on something." She shook her head and burred "I'll be fine lets just keep going."

Storm stopped the herd for a rest a small while later in a deap valley. He could see a few were getting tired but he didn't know what to do, 'maybe i'll get some avise if i tell them' he thought. But then it crossed his mind that they might give up, and then what would he do, but he decided to take his chances.
Storm collected the herd into a space so they could all see him and said in a voice that they could all hear, but it was not over powering "There is a stream to the east of here, it was full all of last summer, when we get there ... Drink as much asyou can and rest... We have a big journey in front of us, the water will be the last source until we find extra." he said with a solomn expression but it then softened and he added "I know of a canyon that is a long way away, but it is plenished with water, in the morning... that is where we shall be headed". He then turned and headed the way of the river hoping they would get the idea to follow.

Wind-Walker stood for a moment her injured hoof raised off the ground. She then followed storm, he was a good leader, trustworthy but sometimes a but stubborn.

Miakoda to followed on. She had dropped back again to Wind-walker.
"How are you holding up?" She asked with a concerned look. "Its flaring up, as soon as we get to the water you need to stick it in"
She continued to walk by her side occasionally talking to both Narmi and Wind.

Wind-Walker plodded on despite the increasing pain in her hoof she tried not to put to much weight on it but while walking that was pretty hard. She was begginning to think it wasn't simply that she had stepped on a stone because as she continued on it left tiny splurts of blood upon the earth where she had stepped.
When Miakoda spoke to her she looked up and smiled (using her eyes as horses do) "Yes a good soaking will probably help alot with the swelling" She then began to just idly chat, trying to ignore the pain in her hoof.

Storm continued on until they reached the stream. once they were there he stopped them "we'll stay here for the day" he said deciding something... "But tonight we leave, we must go quietly as there are wolf packs about." He hated driving them on like this, but what choice did he have, as quick as they got to the canyon the quicker they would be able to rest.

Wind-Walker stopped briefly to hear what the stallion had to say. When he was finished she moaned as did most of the herd. 'There has to be a method to his madness' she thought shaking her head and limping to wards the water. 'Then again maybe not, maybe the heats got to him' Wind-Walker reached the river and submerged herself in sighing as the cool water soothed her sore achy body, most of all it brought the swelling of her foot down to a minimum.
Once she had soaked herself for quite a few moments she emerged water dripping along her hide. She plodded over to a nice spot of grass and began grazing greedily, they would need to eat lots, keep their strength up for the journey ahead.

Miakoda was not to hungry but she forced herself to eat. After she headed to wards the water, laying down on cool rocks with water gushing over them. She looked around the heard and smiled as two foals where playing in the water. Laying her head on the bank and the rest of her body in the water, she closed her eyes. Fatigue had embraced her...she had to sleep...just sleep.

They were at the river now. Storm felt like he was letting down the herd by taking them on a journey like this, 'but if I don't we won't be able to survive the summer' he thought to himself. Once he saw the herd settling down by the water and laying down to sleep, he himself went for a drink by the water. He dipped his head in after and shook it to refresh himself. Then he walked into a part of the water that was moderately deep and he lay himself down in it.
Storms coat was as black as ever and his white face was a dusty silver. Lucky fro him and the herd he had noticed it early in summer, maybe there was some hope. They might just make it.
Once Storm had had a suitable bathe he got up and went over to some trees, the shade felt nice against his coat, and at least his white face was white once more.
While in the shade he noticed two of the smaller foals. One was standing by the other and the other looked like it had injured itself so he went to see. He was wrong in that it hadn't injured itself, merely dehydrated, so he nudged it up and walked by it to the stream where it gulped up the water.

Wind-Walker ate her fill and then looked up surveying what was around her. Storm was helping a dehydrated foal "He's so sweet" she whispered to herself before lowering her head to the foliage again and eating more even though she wasnt particulary hungry

Narmi went over to the waters edge and drank before she walked back towards her friends, she then dipped her head and munched away on a pillar of grass.

Wind-Walker decided to go talk to storm. She limped over to where he was and whickered her greeting bowing her head to him as he was the stallion and needed respect. She then brought her head up and approached tail held high. She didnt walk as regally as hoped but she tried

Storm looked at Wind-walker as she walked over and wickered back "hello, whats wrong with your leg?" he asked, generally concerned. but then he thought of something and got worried "did you injure it while coming here?" he asked hoping she'd be alright. "i don't know what to do" he said. He wanted to tell her why he'd been driving the herd sohard but he didn't want to put the burdenon her.
