"You may join me if you wish, this is only a matter of curiosity," he told her. "I have no qualms about you coming."
He made his way out of the building, trying to locate the scent. Years without need of strong tracking powers had taken their toll on him, and it was harder than he thought.
Besides that, he never tracked in such a large public. It usually caused nasty results, depending on the public's state of cleanliness and species.
(Sorry I made you pine, Pyris. I had to go to sleep, cuz it was midnight practically...btw, did anyone notice I have a fetish about changing my text to comic sans ms? Is that a bit obsessive?)

Heh, it's alright....I just stay up that late....And on to 3, 4 o'clock in the morning...I sneak on my laptop. *smiles* I think the Comic sans makes you stick out...It's easier for me to catch you....)
Pyris nodded with an understanding smile. <It would be amazing to find someone like me....I'd want to see them too.> She followed behind him, keeping a slight distance so as not to get in the way. She kept her hand lightly on the hilt of her blade, just in case.

Almost desperately, Sesshoumaru sniffed more deeply. He couldn't find the scent, and it was maddening.
*Where is the demon?!* he thought in frustration. Using his nose so much in a crowded area was causing his head to spin already. He staggered a bit, putting a hand to his forehead.

Kai, without answering Bakura's question, forced Bakura's hands away from his leg. His leg was bleeding badly, the bullet was still visable. Kai cringed, knowing he had to get it out. Turning around, hoping to find something that would help, he found nothing. Err... I have to use my powers... great...
Turning his hand sideways, the darkness from the allyway in which they were, began to seep towards the two. A thin line of it wrapped itself around Kai's hand, and the tip went towards Bakura's leg.

Bakura watched with horrified fascination. "What are you doing?" he asked, eyes wide with wonder.

"Taking the bullet out, what else?" Kai asked, using a sarcastic tone, as the shadows went into the cut. "It shouldn't really hurt... the shadows are like air, it may sting a bit." The tip of the string of shadows, wrapped itself around the small bullet, and pulled.
The bullet came loose, and out of Bakura's leg, and was dropped to the ground beside them.

Bakura hissed a little in pain. "Thank you," he muttered, staring at the bullet but addressing Kai.

The pair trudged on in silence, broken only by the incessant, howling winds whipping through every crack in Tristan's layers of warmth.
Suddenly, another noice broke the quiet--a lone wolf howl. It seemed to be coming from directly in front of them. Kratos immediatly tensed, knowing that it was not far off. His right hand snapped to the hilt of his sheathed sword, secured to his waist, while the left grabbed the sheath itself. Tristan looked around, trying to identify the source of the howl, but the visibility was too low. He saw Kratos close his eyes, as he often did when he knew a potential enemy was nearby, but hidden.
As the initial howl faded, another sounded, from somewhere off to their left, and, at the peak of this one, a third, to the right this time, and a fourth behind them.
Soon the air was filled with the howling of wolves, and each call was louder than the last. Kratos's eyes snapped open just as the first wolf came into view. Kratos leapt closer to Tristan, to protect him, though he did not draw his sword.

Kai nodded. He looked up at the skies, to see Eyrie diving towards them, a bandage in her talon. "What'd you have to go through to steal that?" Kai asked, taking the banadge from Eyrie's claw. Eyrie hooted quietly and Kai laughed.
Moving his hands towards Bakura's leg, he began to bandage the wound.

"Why are you helping me?" Bakura asked, eyes narrowed. "I'm sure you've better things to do with your time..."

"Tristan," he whispered softly, "Take out your dagger." He did not take his eyes off the wolf.
Tristan reached into a fold of his clothing, and withdrew a small, shining blade--his only defence. As he did this, though, another wolf came into view--the second one heard, off to their left.
A third came from the right, a fourth behind them, and at least three others from various directions.
A soft chink, and Kratos' blade slid from its sheath. he struck a defensive pose, and surveyed the wolves.
He noted that they were unusually thin. He could see the ribs of several, even from his higher angle. Well, that explains why they're here...Hmph, they think they can make a meal of us...
The wolves began to advance, tightening their circle around the pair. Kratos tensed further, preparing for an attack.

"Better things to do?" Kai asked, pulling the bandage tight, and continuing to wrap. "Yea. Like I've got better things to do. It's not like I'm some fancy noble who has a party to go to every waken' moment of their life. I've all the time in the world." He pulled the last of the bandage tight, then secured it.
Standing up, Eyrie flew to his shoulder, and he offered a hand to Bakura.

Bakura stared at Kai for a moment before shrugging and taking the hand offered him. "Well...I suppose the help is appreciated," he muttered, pulling himself up. He winced when he had to put weight on his leg. "I'll have to hide out for awhile..."

Kai nodded, drawing his hand back to his side. "But before that." He said, "Would you like me to give that bounty hunter a little scare?" A sly grin spread across his face and Eyrie cawed.

Bakura smirked. "If you don't mind," he said, nodding.
