After a load of fruitless shuffling and shifting trying to see around, Ariel set the bag down with a huff. "How would we share the weight of one bag?"

Scratching his head, Edwin thought this over. One bag....Alot of groceries... "I could carry it if ya' want." He said after a while, grinning. "If you carry it ya'll collide with someone else" he added before chuckling heartedly.

Blushing but still smiling, Ariel agreed with a nod. "Sometimes I wish I was taller," she admitted. Ebet watched without expression.

"Don't...You hit your head on tha' doors." he said smiling. Taking the bag from her insistantly, he hefted it in his arms. Wow she is right...This is heavy Edwin mentally told Naia Serves you right for sticking your nose into other people's business she replied curtly before lapsing into silence again. Holding it in both hands firmly, he asked: "So where are you going?"

"Home," she replied simply. "Thanks. I'll show you." She began to lead him through the market crowds as Ebet had been earlier. The Daemon watched the two and walked alongside.

Grinning, he patted his pocket gently with his other hand, before hoisting the bag and following the young girl through the crowd "You're too trusting" Naia's squeeky voice came from his pocket. "That's not such a bad thing tho Nai" Edwin whispered back. "Aye but it's not a good thing either" She squeeked back before relapsing into silence.

She led him close to the edge of town, where the crowds thinned and walking was easier. There were still a fair amount of people in the main streets, though. "My home isn't much," she mentioned as they turned down a more narrow sidestreet. A few young children were playing alongside the road, chasing eachother with imaginary stick-swords.

Squeezing past the excited battling children, He followed the Adolescent through the streets close, Naia still in his pockets. "How often you lived here?" he said after a few minutes of walking, the children behind them now.

"Quite a while. I'm not exactly sure how long..." She stopped in front of a pathetic looking house. More of a ramble-down shack. "This is it." The place was not dirty, just in great disrepair. She shuffled her feet in her oversized boots, a little ashamed. The little wooden door creaked as she opened it to reveal the single room.

Edwin stepped in after her whistling coyly. "Quite cozy in here". Smiling, he followed her into the one room with the bag in his hands, wondering where to put it down. Leaping from his pocket, Naia changed from her mouse form into a small Wolf. Her grey fur illuminated from the light outside, casting gloomy shadows around her.

The room was fairly empty aside from two small beds, a washstand, table, two chairs, and some cabinets along the wall. There were a few random crates, some upturned to form smaller chairs, tables, or footstools, some upright or on their side for storage. One upturned near a bed displayed a quaint arrangement of wildflowers. Ebet yawned, curling his canine tongue, and sat down next to the large makeshift table. Ariel took the bag from the laden boy with slight signs of effort and placed it on the table. She smiled. Her father would be so happy to see these when her got home, she thought, looking at the groceries. She looked back to Edwin. "I'm sorry I'm not a very good hostess... But welcome to my home," the girl said as politley as she could.

"It's amazing" Edwin said truthfully, whistling in admiration. He had never had a proper home to settle down to. He'd often explored the rich manors on sale around here but none of them looked very cosy...not that he could even afford the doorstep. "Has a real family feeling" he added, glancing curiously around at the room, before reverting his gaze to the pretty girl before him.

Ariel shrugged her shoulders under her baggy clothes, but she was smiling proudly. She too had been looking around, wondering if he saw what she did. When she turned to him and met his eyes, she blushed slightly and looked away to her Daemon. Ebet had changed to a cat again, leaping up onto one of the beds, and circling before curling up into a furry ball. "Cozy..." he echoed, contentedly closing his bright feline eyes. Ariel gave a small laugh.

"So how many are you here?" he said after a moment of silence, braking the gaze and thanking the dim light for hiding his embarrassment at staring. Naia leapt up onto his shoulder and turned into a squirrel, her beady eyes eying the sleeping Dæmon.

"Just my father and I," she replied. "Do you have any family?"
