"Friends don't always tell you what to do," the male Daemon whispered in response. "Every ship needs an anchor at some point..."

Naia looked curiously at Ebet. "I'm sorry, I do not understand what you mean?" she said quietly. While knowledgeble about many things, Naia hated her lack of use of words.

Ebet paused in thought a moment before explaining. "Without strings, a kite would fly away and be lost," he said. "But just because it is attached does not mean it can't soar on the wind."

"Ahhhh" Naia said, understanding what the other Dæmon meant now. "So you're encouraging this friendship between them? But they have nothing in common..."

"I encourage any friendship," the Daemon said, as if he did not understand why anyone would ever do otherwise. He shrugged his furry shoulders, an odd human expression to see on a cat. "We cannot know that yet. Do you have something against other humans?" A hint of an amused smile played around his fangs.

Naia recoiled in mock offence. "No...It's just that whenever he" She said quietly, shaking her head towards Edwin, "Gets to know people, eventually he has to leave and he is downcast for months"

Ebet turned his gaze to the pair and rested his head on his paws. "I could see what you mean," he conferred quietly. But what did that mean for them? What was he supposed to do about it?

What are you doing Edwin Naia hissed mentally at the boy, who was still staring around happily at the house. You're never this friendly! Edwin turned his gaze to the Dæmons lying down and fixed Naia with a gaze so cold she curled up into a sheepdog, before uncurling and sitting up. Just because i want to be with people my own age- Edwin stated mentally How do you know she's your own age! She looks either much younger or older than you...How can you be sure you're the same age! The Dæmon blurted out, whining softly. "Excuse Naia," Edwin said, turning to Ariel "She's just hungry...although she doesn't need to eat"

Ebet flattened his ears but did not move otherwise. The girl smiled and held back a giggle. "I've always thought it strange how someone could be hungry but not need food. But Ebet gets hungry too sometimes." She moved to her grocery bag and tore off a small peice of sausage. "She can have this," she said, offering it to Edwin.

The teenage boy shook his head. "No seriously, that's your food. I don't want take what is yours..." he said, muttering and shuffling his feet. "It's all in her mind, hunger..."

Ebet, Ariel called, about to tear the peice in half and offer to each of the Daemons.
Don't be insulting, he warned her with an audible purr. I know you don't mean to, but think of how you or your father would respond.
I suppose you're right, the girl replied with the mental equivalent of a sigh. "Allright," she said aloud, setting the scrap on the tabletop. "Let's do something to get her mind, our minds, off of it then." Ariel tried to be cheery.
Ebet purred louder in agreement.

Edwin chuckled heartly. "Have you been to the horse market yet?" he said, turning the conversation away quickly. he held a arm out to Naia, who leaped up and resumed a squirrel form and settled on his shoulder.

"No." She had always been intimidated by the horses' large size, though she loved animals. Ebet sprang gracefully to the floor before finding her side again as the small reddish wolf.

"Oh..." Edwin said, stopping in his excitement. He had been about to show her the market setting up outside town. Sighing, he scratched his head.
