"Had" Edwin said gloomily. "They died two years ago" He hung his head in self pity before brightening up a bit. Scratching his hair, he gently pet the Dæmon on his shoulder.

"Oh," Ariel said softly, gaze sliding to the floor.
((What do you want to do? I don't know much about this world of yours. ^^))

"'Tis okay..." Edwin said pulling her chin up to look at him. "Don' look so gloomy girl" he said, shining forth a sly grin.
((It's just like anyother world with a few differences. Picture living in an English town in 1900 {with a few changes like witches, zeppelins, the VERY rare galivespian}. Basically like a modern Day rp not modern and with Dæmons))

Ebet's eyes opened, watching them all. His long tail twitched. Ariel met his eyes and blushed again, but did not look away. She smiled for him. She could feel Ebet's amusement in the back of her mind.

Naia leapt off Edwin's shoulder and skuttled over to Ebet. She sat next to him in her squirrel and whispered: "Why does she blush so?" Her voice was soft and a little conceiling in it's tone but Edwin failed to hear it.

"Because," explained Ariel's Daemon matter-of-factly, "That is what teenage girls do" He yawned and flicked an ear. "She is shy," the black cat whispered back to Naia.

Naia nibbled on her paw absently, gazing at the two teenagers. "Humans are strange" she murmered randomly. "Blushing for no reason... Yawning, Naia shifted into a striped house cat, it's fur pearl white and several black stripes on it's back which made it look like a Siberian Tiger. Lying next to Ebet, she continued to eye up the Dæmon out of the corner of her eye.

His tail flicked again before the Daemon closed his round eyes with a sigh. Ariel found her voice. "I hope I'm not keeping you from anything," she said. She hadn't considered what the boy had been doing before she ran into him.

Edwin shrugged, his smile still there. "I don't really have much to do nowerdays. Jus' find food at the beginning and end of each day then find somewhere to sleep" he looked at her hastily, hoping she wouldn't get the idea. You're strange, Naia's voice rippled through his subconcious. Why are you getting friendly with strangers? Because, although you're fabulous company...We're the same Nai...It'd be nice to get to know someone else Naia let a bit of silence pursue before replying: Friends tie you down...you know that Edwin ignored his Dæmon and stepped back slightly, before reobserving the room once more.

"So you just do what you want?" she asked.
"What kind of human is he?" Ebet whispered cautiously to the other Daemon.

"The foolhardy kind" Naia whispered back. Edwin scratched his head thoughtfully. "Yeah...I guess Ah'm classed as a nomad 'ere in the town" he said, laughing airily. "What 'bout you? You work here?"

Ebet flattened his ears with a soft gravelly purr-like laugh.
"I don't have a real job," Ariel explained, no longer so ashamed toward one she thought could understand. "I do odd tasks here 'n' there where I can, to help my father." She tilted her head curiously. "I've always wondered what it was like to live as a nomad," she said. "It sounds like it must be interesting, travelling to different places and meeting new people." She offered him a friendly smile.
Ebet turned his head to look at the black and white Daemon beside him, as if he also wondered and wanted to know more.

"It's not as intrest'in as it seems. Ya gotta find your own food...Own shelter for the night..." Edwin said, scratching his arm idly. "Much rather settle down sum'wer..." he finished.
Naia turned towards Ebet curiously. "You got a question you want to ask?" She whispered quietly.

"Hmm..." she seemed slightly disappointed.
"Surely there must be some thrill in being a nomad?" the Daemon asked the other, continuing Ariel's thoughts in his own.

Naia inclined her furred head. "There is enjoyment of not being tied down, not being told what to do." he soft voice said. "But little Eddy here seems to have forgotten that...This is about as close to people as he has normally gotten she finished, sighing.
